Senior Instructor of ATKSA: Sensei Lyvon Free, 4th Dan
Sensei Lyvon Free
Sensei Lyvon Free began his martial arts training in 1983, with Sensei Jerry Cox in Yoshukai Karate
Do. A style founded by Master Yamamota and Master Koda of Okinawa. He has studied Traditional Tae kwon Do, along with some
judo and akido training.
In 1999, he, his wife and daughter began studying American Tiger Karate with Grand Master Welsh. Sensei
Lyvon Free is currently a 4th Degree Black Belt promoted by Shihan Douglas J. Welsh and Certified by American Tiger Karate
Schools Black Belt Board. Sensei Lyvon Free is also recognized and certified by Independent Karate Schools Association and
the Black Belt Schools of America. Sensei Free has also served 8 years in the Military as a Recon Specialist.
Chief Instructor of ATKSA: Sensei DeWayne Heard, 2nd Dan
Sensei DeWayne Heard
Sensei DeWayne Heard began his martial arts training with Sensei Free in 1987. In 2000 he began studying American Tiger
Karate with Grand Master Welsh. Sensei Heard is currently a 2nd Degree Black Belt promoted by Sensei Lyvon Free
and certified by the American Tiger Karate Schools Black Belt Board. Sensei Heard has served 20 years in the Military and
is currently a Tac NCO for Alabama Military Academy.
Instructor of ATKSA: Sensei Kandice Free, 2nd Dan
Sensei Kandice Free
Sensei Kandice Free, is the daughter of Sensei Free. She began her training with her father under Shihan Welsh at 6 years
of age. Sensei Kandice Free is currently a 2nd Degree Black Belt, promoted by Sensei Lyvon Free and recognized
by American Tiger Karate Schools Black Belt Board.
